Ellen Connelly is a Scottish vocalist, who over the years has established herself as a unique voice in both jazz and pop music. Ellen has performed in and led an array of projects since graduating from Leeds Conservatoire in 2019, from her solo project Bella to her jazz trio, the Ellen Connelly Trio.
Ellen has studied under some of the UK’s most creative vocalists, including Lauren Kinsella at Leeds Conservatoire and Brigitte Beraha at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She is currently studying the Guildhall Artists Masters course, where she is supported by Help Musicians UK. Ellen has performed at high profile venues such as the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, as well as smaller venues such as Seven Arts, Headingley Heart and Matt & Phreds.
In 2021, she formed the Ellen Connelly Trio with Cameron Ward (piano) and Billy Sims (bass). The trio have performed at various venues in the North of England and plan to release a series of live sessions in January 2023.
In 2019, Ellen released the first single from her solo project Bella and has gone on to release 4 others, including a collaboration with vocalist Luca Manning. The collaboration ‘This Time’ gained radio plays across the UK on Worldwide FM, Soho Radio and BBC Radio Scotland. Bella’s debut EP is set to release in 2023.
